About the Author

Meraj N. Mirza is a member of the Makkah Province Board of Trustees and a visiting scholar at the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard University. Mirza is also an associate professor of physical geography at Umm Al-Qura University in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. He has published several books, including The Digital Illustrated Atlas of Makkah and the Holy Environs, Makkah from the Sky: Past and Present, Atlas of Makkah Maps and Historical Sites in Makkah.
