About the Author

Philippe Ségalot joined Christie's in New York in 1996 as a contemporary art specialist before becoming the company's international head of contemporary art. Franck Giraud joined Christie's in New York as a specialist in impressionist and modern art in 1988 and became international director of impressionist and modern art at Christie's in 1996. Both founded the art consultancy Giraud.Pissaro.Ségalot , based in New York and Paris, with partner Lionel Pissarro in 2001. After Giraud's retirement in 2012, the company became Ségalot LP and focused on 20th and 21st century art under the direction of Philippe Segalot.
Art historian Joachim Pissarro is professor emeritus at Hunter College/CUNY. His most recent book is Aesthetics of the Margins/The Margins of Aesthetics: Wild Art Explained (with David Carrier). He is a founding member of the Global Museums Strategies Group (with Philippe de Montebello and Jennifer Stockman).
